Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that: “The Special forces do special work, enjoy special honour, hence need special effort… and complete every task, particularly special ones, excellently”, the Commando College has deployed a number of measures to improve the quality of education, training, and scientific research, meeting the requirements for force development and combat art of the Special Forces - the exceptionally elite combat force of our Army in the new era.

Deeply aware of its assigned missions, imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings to the Special Forces, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Commando College, and its subordinate departments, faculties, and units have implemented several policies and solutions to lead and direct all aspects of work. Emphasis is placed on enhancing the role, responsibility, activeness, initiative, and creativity of cadres, lecturers, students, staff, and soldiers, especially the pioneering and exemplary role of Party committee members and leading cadres at all levels in improving the quality of education, training, and scientific research. Programmes and curricula are gradually standardised and made more practical; the quality of the teaching staff and educational administrators has been improved; and the application of science and technology and digital transformation has been attentively cared and promoted. Collaboration and coordination efforts have seen positive changes, thereby the quality of education, training, and scientific research of the College has continuously been improved, meeting well the requirements of tasks.

Currently, the developments of the Army and the Corps are putting new and very high goals and requirements, demanding that the College continue to leverage the synergy from its organisations and forces, synchronously implement contents and solutions to improve the quality of education, training, and scientific research, and effectively carry out the "three breakthroughs" in building high-quality human resources as identified by the 12th Party Congress of the Commando Command, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, exceptionally elite, and modern Special Force in the new situation, worthy of the “special trust” of the Party, the State, and the People.

To realise its set goals, the College has decided on the key content and decisive solution as to focus on building a contingent of teachers and educational administrators with sufficient quantity, reasonable structure, and high quality. Given the low proportion of postgraduate qualifications of this staff, and their uneven level of foreign languages and digital skills, its Party committees and organisations continue to focus on exert comprehensive leadership of personnel work; strengthen the management of this staff according to decentralised structure and the principle of democratic centralism. Emphasis is placed on the evaluation and assessment of staff, along with their training, development, deployment, appointment, and planning. Unique and superior mechanisms and policies are to be offered to attract the talented ones, leading experts and scientists, and capable and experienced cadres.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings that: “Any extraordinary difficulty must be overcome and resolved”, the College attaches importance to the development of qualification of its cadres. Accordingly, besides attending training courses held by Military and civilian schools, its officers and teachers are required to attend on-the-job training and conduct self-study to improve their skill. In addition, they are deployed to grassroots units to gain practical experience; encouraged to do post-graduate study, and participate in scientific research and academic exchanges. Its goal is that, by 2030, 100% of its teachers and administrators meet the required criteria with necessary digital skills and the ability to apply artificial intelligence in teaching and management. Besides, all of them must have leading and managing experience at the grassroots units; 55% - 60% of the lecturers and 20% - 25% of the administrators hold postgraduate degrees, including 25% of the lecturers hold doctoral degrees. They are to be standardised in quality, competence, style, and methods to become the core force in fulfilling the central political tasks of the College.

Deeply understanding Ho Chi Minh's teaching that: “Practical and thorough training is more important than excessive quantity”, the College focuses on innovating the process, content, curriculum, methods, and forms of teaching and learning. Implementing the directives and resolutions of the Party committees at all levels on education and training, specifically Resolution No. 40-NQ/DU, dated 26 February 2026, of the College’s Party Committee on improving the quality of education and training, its functional agencies and faculties continue to review, revise, and innovate the process, content, and programme of training in the direction of: reducing theory while increasing practice, exercise, internships, and self-study, ensuring logical consistency in each subject, semester, academic year, and course. Moreover, it applies input and output standards, and standardises training programmes; develops, evaluates, and issues training curricular at various levels for different groups of learners, tailored to its specific characteristics, and those of the Corps. Moreover, it regularly updates and incorporates new knowledge; pays attention to political and ideological education, imparting combat experience, developing morality and the sense of responsibility; improving foreign language capability, information technology, digital transformation, physical fitness, knowledge of state management, economics, society, law, working methods, and other necessary skills for students relevant to the unit's needs. Surveys are conducted to assess the quality of its graduates, as a basis for innovation, supplementation, and adjustment of teaching content, forms, and methods to suit training objectives and requirements. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the College focuses on revising and perfecting eight training programmes for intermediate-level training; developing and finalising training programmes and detailed course outlines for different learners. It actively innovates the forms and methods of teaching and learning in a modern direction, promoting military democracy, encouraging the initiative and creativity of learners.

Adhering to President Ho Chi Minh's thought that: “Practice may become blind in the absence of theoretical guidance. Theory without connection to practice is empty theory”, and implementing the motto that “The quality of training at schools decides the level of the combat readiness at units”, the College proactively develops plans and regulations for close coordination and cooperation with units. Its teachers are regularly deployed to units to conduct training and exercise there, while leaders and commanders of units are invited to conduct teaching, presentation of specialized topics, and share their practical training and management experiences with its staffs; strengthens the integration of student internships with sending officers and lecturers for practical research and study to experience and access new and modern weapons and technical equipment contributes to applying knowledge to practice, forming military thinking, capabilities, and practical skills for teachers and students, avoiding falling behind compared to activities outside the unit.

Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that: “Military officers must study military science,...”, the College decides to develop a close combination between the improvement of quality of education and training with the promotion of scientific researches. Accordingly, its departments, faculties, and units proactively develop plans and breakthroughs to implement research projects that are up-to-date and relevant to practice; modernise the process of training, exercise, and combat readiness in units; promote research and application of scientific and technological achievements in the military and national defence fields; research and select the achievements that can be applied for capacity building and enhance the strength and combat readiness of the Corps, etc. It strives that annually 100% of its teaching staff and 50% of those working in the battalions and departments have scientific products, such as: projects, textbooks, documents, initiatives, papers, articles, etc. that are evaluated and approved with high practical value.

Last but not least, the College will continue to improve the quality of document and textbook compilation towards standardisation and modernisation, updating new content, the art and tactics of the Commandos, and bring valuable products into education and training. At the same time, it will promote the application of science and technology, and digital transformation promptly serving the tasks of education, training, combat readiness, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, advanced, exemplary, smart and modern Commando College, worthy of its position and task requirements in the new period.
